Hey! You live in Raleigh right? Thats cool.. I just moved to Goldsboro like not even a month ago. Do you know any cool venues that have decent bands? :)
so, i know absolutely nothing about goldsboro, but i don’t think it’s terribly far from raleigh. if you’re willing to drive a bit, there are some good venues in the triangle area. in raleigh specifically, there’s lincoln theatre (smaller acts - i’ve seen annuals, minus the bear, and others there). also in raleigh is walnut creek amphitheatre where the big time bands/artists play (lil wayne, KISS, and i’ll be going to see kings of leon w/ the black keys this september).
there’s also a really awesome, more cozy outdoor venue in cary, nc. it’s called koka booth amphitheatre where i’ve most recently seen my beloved frenchmen - phoenix.
if you’re willing to travel a little farther west than raleigh, there’s a little town called carrboro that’s home to one of the best small venues, cat’s cradle. edward sharpe & the magnetic zeros are playing there tonight. i’ve seen so many good shows there: the xx, the temper trap, manchester orchestra (a couple times), kevin devine, surfer blood, etc.) and plan to see so many more with stars, matt & kim, and ra ra riot all coming to cat’s in the next few months.
